So what exactly is a ghost?

That is the million dollar question!


The problem is that no one knows exactly what a ghost, spectre or haunting really is.  There are so many different theories.  Below are just some of them:

  • The actual disembodied spirit of a deceased human being or animal for that matter
  • A communication from the dead to a person who is sensitive to that type of communication (a medium for example)
  • A psychological illness (diagnosed or not) that causes a person to have visual or auditory hallucinations
  • The physical remnants (almost like a recording) of past, usually intense, events or experiences that are "picked up" by "sensitive people" or in some way played back like a tape recorder to whoever is around to watch and/or listen
  • The transference of thoughts or memories from one person to another at the time or shortly after the death of one or the other
  • The negative results of persons engaging in witchcraft or experimenting in satanic worship that subjects individuals to demonic influence
  • A break in the space-time continuum that would cause someone to experience a past or future event in the present time
